Jindal does about face .-. Duplessis does two face. What’s the difference you ask?

This last few days have been really interesting since the most arrogant legislature in my memory has tried to pass a pay raise for themselves. In case you can’t figure it out for yourself, I’ll spell it out for you. They mostly got elected with a reform agenda and a clean broom mentality from the public. HA!!! There is no such thing as an honest politician. (The late great populist Huey p. Long expressed politics succinctly when he said: Politicians remind me of an old medicine man. This medicine man used to sell only two bottles of medicine, one called Hipopiloram as a pickmeup when you were feeling down and one called Lopopihiram to calm you down from being too high and jittery. They were both made from the Popiloram tree bark, one from the bark skinned from the root up and the other from the bark skinned from branches down. He said the only difference between Democrats and Republicans was that one was skinning you from the toes up and the other one was skinning you from the ears down). They all come from long lines of politicians and political backgrounds. When they all saw the polls looking for reform, they saw their chance to get a piece of the action, all they had to do is convince you they were nice, clean cut, all American guy’s and gal’s. And we bought it.
You will never hear it anywhere in the news media, cause they (the politicians) dare not give up the ghost and their gravy train and even mutter a word. When you get to Baton Rouge you start learning how to finagle and bargain your way to be able to steer contracts and taxpayer money to the right people and companies. If you think some of that money won’t find it’s way back to their pockets through back channels, then you need to educate yourself, just send me some money and i promise to fix your street and make sure you never loose your job and I’ll keep gas below $10 a gallon.
The only way to get most of them to pass reforms (in other words give up their gravy train and the ONLY reason they spent $100,000 to get a $30,000 job) and give up their perks, was to promise them that they would be able to open the spigot on the back porch, while all the cameras were filming the closing of the spigot on the front porch! In other words give yourself a big pay raise to make up for the other money that you can’t steal or redirect with contracts to other sources.
I suspect behind doors deals were the rage. Governor Jindal underestimated the mood and anger this would generate to the poorest people of almost any state in the U.S. However in my opinion Sen. Duplessis did not underestimate her constituents, i did not hear of any recall of her, even though she spearheaded this crap, And has the nerve to appear indignant and arrogant on camera. Though i would guess her constituents are among the poorest of the poor. And as it looks the most ignorant and misinformed of the state. She is mad because she won’t be getting that piece of your “Pocket Pie” in other words she and all the others won’t have their hands in your wallet or purse. And keep in mind that most of these people own their own businesses, and if they can’t steer that contract to a friend and can’t get it by pay raise, then why did i spend $100,000 for this little piece of pie, they must be thinking. They all forget their civics lessons, that they should go to Baton Rouge to make life better for all of us, not just for themselves and their friends.
